Never top off the solution in the case as it is essentially dirty and has practically no disinfecting properties left, so will be unable to kill any microorganisms on the lenses.
Transferring some of the solution into another container is not a good idea and it is strongly recommended that you avoid this at all costs. People often do this when they have to travel, but the problem is that this transfer can interfere with the sterility of the solution and can pose the risk of an eye infection.
